Savage Mirage is 4.75 inches of hand-sculpted, animal-print excess designed for the person who considers an ordinary cocktail ring a tragic lack of ambition.
Entirely hand-sculpted—including its faux golden-bronze setting—this one-of-a-kind ring features a graphic black, ivory, gray and warm ochre pattern created through a labor-intensive caning process. Caning has a mind of its own: compression, movement and hand manipulation create irregularities that cannot be precisely controlled or duplicated. The result is not machine-perfect symmetry. It is something far more interesting—an entirely individual surface that exists once and only once.
The sculpted border has an intentionally primitive, almost archaeological character, giving the bold animal pattern the feeling of some strange artifact dragged out of a considerably more glamorous civilization.
