This one began with the beads.

I came across a collection of fabulous old Berber resin beads in unusually large, freeform organic shapes—forms I had never seen before and could not resist. Their asymmetry, sculptural weight, and naturally irregular silhouettes were so compelling that I deliberately kept the design restrained. These beads did not need embellishment. They needed space.

The necklace measures approximately 22 inches and is non-adjustable, with the oversized resin elements arranged to preserve their individual character rather than force them into visual uniformity.

Each bead has its own shape, contour, tone, and presence, ranging through deep chocolate, cognac, amber, and warm brown. Curved gold-tone burnished metal spacers were added between many of the beads to create separation and rhythm without competing with their unusual silhouettes. A cluster of textured gold-tone Asian bells adds a single asymmetrical accent and makes a lovely soft jingle with certain movements.  Very zen.

The resin beads range in size from the smallest at about 1.5" to the largest at 2".  This is a dense piece with weight so please know your tolerance before you purchase.  It is a very haute couture look and does its own lifting without any further embellishments.

The result is substantial, sculptural, and unmistakably one of a kind.  The back is finished with antique conch, dark wood rondelles and gold tone metal balls.  Closes with a fancy xl lobster claw clasp.  I can add an extender chain free of charge if requested.

What makes this necklace especially compelling is the scarcity of these older Berber resin forms. Contemporary beads rarely appear in this scale or with this degree of organic irregularity, and I have not encountered another group shaped quite like these.

This design can easily cross gender lines, although its scale gives it tremendous presence when styled on a woman.
