This one-of-a-kind Kat Kouture statement necklace was built from a collection of rogue components that clearly had no intention of behaving themselves. The result is a bold, slightly feral composition of patterned rounds, sculptural organic forms, metallic accents, and irregular elements that hang with the attitude of talismans, teeth, relics and trophies.

There is something ceremonial about it — but nothing costume about it.

The necklace sits high on the body, creating the impact of a modern collar while allowing the individual components to move, interrupt and challenge one another. The dark sculptural drops provide weight and danger; the patterned beads bring rhythm; lighter decorative elements break the composition just enough to keep the eye moving.

Designed as a unisex piece, it can shift easily between masculine, feminine and entirely self-defined styling. On a man, it reads powerful and almost tribal-modern. On a woman, it becomes provocative and architectural. Either way, subtlety has left the building.
