This monumental apophyllite and stilbite statement pendant is a true piece of wearable sculpture, designed for either women or men. Given its substantial scale, it has especially commanding presence on a larger frame.
The raw gemstone specimen is a dramatic composition of creamy beige and soft ivory tones with natural variations of warm orange. I set the stone into hand-sculpted material, then painted, micro-glittered, and glazed the setting to create a richly textured, one-of-a-kind finish. The reverse is also fully coated in sculpted material, helping protect both skin and clothing from abrasion.
The pendant measures approximately 7.5" x 5" including the bail and is suspended from an exceptionally thick beige/off-white cotton rope measuring approximately 26" in length. The back is finished with hand-sculpted end caps and closes with an oversized decorative gold-tone lobster claw clasp.
Despite its scale, this piece is surprisingly comfortable to wear—I tried it on myself.

CARE TIP: To help protect the cotton rope from dirt and staining, you may wish to treat it with Scotchgard or a similar fabric protectant. If cleaning becomes necessary, gently submerge the rope in cold water with a small amount of Woolite, lightly work the suds through the fibers, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to air dry.
