Here's an Abalone or MOP (Mother of Pearl) Shell and Pearl Hot Pink Statement Necklace - Chest Piece - Bib Necklace. This Dramatic five strand beauty features a base color of Hot Pink, Fuchsia or Fuschia leaf shape shells, each of which is separated by a Pink freshwater pearl. Each leaf shell has slight red matrixing and a high iridescent property. Adjusts from 21-23" with a 2" extender chain accented with two pink pearls. Each highly iridescent leaf shell shows some red matrixing. Depending upon the light (natural sunlight, fluorescent, incandescent or candlelight) and the viewing angle, the color can change or shift. You might see silver, lavender or even orange. However, the base color is Pink or Fuschia or Fuchsia and fixed. If you look at my photographs, you can see an orangish and/or reddish hue when photographed laying down as opposed being displayed on the mannequin even though this is the EXACT SAME Necklace in all the photos. This illustrates the iridescent principal. The iridescent quality of the piece is a function of the shell nacre and separate from the dyed base color of pink.

Merriam Webster defines iridescent as: "A lustrous rainbowlike play of color caused by differential refraction of lightwaves (as from an oil slick, soap bubbles, butterfly wings, some birds & beetles or fish scales) that tends to change as the angle of view changes." The iridescent properties of the shell DIFFERS FROM the baseline color which is pink. This is not a red Necklace. This is not an orange necklace.
This is not a purple necklace. This is not a silver necklace.

Please note that the iridescent nacre quality differs from the base color which is pink or fuschia or fuchsia with a slight red matrixing.
