Copal Amber & Tibetan Copper Repousse Luxury Oversized Necklace

A spectacular homage to the late, incomparable Iris Apfel, this monumental statement necklace comes from my private collection and remains new and unworn. Bold, unapologetic, and inherently unisex, it is designed for the collector who understands that scale can be its own form of luxury. An extender chain can be added at no additional charge to accommodate a larger neck.

Five immense beads believed to be copal amber form the visual foundation of the necklace. Predominantly saturated yellow with subtle warm orange undertones, these extraordinary beads measure approximately 1.5" to 1.75" each and alternate with equally commanding Tibetan-style copper repoussé beads richly embellished with floral and ornamental detailing.

The yellow beads floated during a home saltwater flotation test, a characteristic associated with some amber and copal materials. Because flotation alone cannot definitively authenticate the material or distinguish copal from mature amber, and because the beads have not been independently evaluated by a gemological laboratory, they are represented conservatively as believed to be copal amber.

Pairs of burnished gold-tone undulating “potato chip” spacers punctuate the larger components, introducing movement, sculptural rhythm, and flashes of metallic contrast throughout the composition. Despite its monumental appearance, the necklace is surprisingly lightweight and comfortable on the body.

The necklace measures approximately 22" end to end and is non-adjustable. Because of the exceptional diameter of the beads, it wears visually more like a conventional 20" necklace. It closes with gold-tone hardware and a petite lobster-claw clasp.
