Bone & Shell Ethnic Necklace PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Tribal Couture White & Brown Bold Chest Piece - Kat Kouture Jewelry

This is one gorgeous statement necklace that has been hand crafted by the indigenous people of New Guinea.   They are sometimes referred to as "the last of the Stone Age people" given their ability to preserve their heritage and culture despite the impingements from the "modern world."  The pendant portion is carved from bone and measures approximately 6" x 2.75".  It is suspended by two strands of what looks to be braided beige twine and has embellishments that are either strung or sewn on:  shells, fish vertabrae and dark brown wood beads.  Each side has a 14" drop and the back simply ties.   Proudly presented by the Atelier of Kat Kouture!
