Out of Africa
A deconstructed composition of global materials, reassembled into a sculptural choker.
This 18" non-adjustable necklace is built from an intentional mix of hand-formed elements: African Yoruba and lost-wax brass beads, emerald green glass barrels, Krobo glass, matte black agate, Asian bells, vintage Chinese brass coins, chocolate wood rondelles, and carved zebu bone.
The irregularity of the beads is preserved—subtle variations in form and surface are inherent to their origin and integral to the piece’s character. Nothing is uniform. Nothing is repeated without purpose.
The composition resolves at the front with a dominant brass focal, creating weight, rhythm, and visual tension across the neckline.
Finished with a gold-tone hook and eye closure. An extender chain can be added upon request.
This is not a delicate piece.
It is structured, grounded, and deliberately imperfect.
