This one came from a little Atelier resurrection.
I deconstructed two older statement pieces and let the best parts misbehave together. The result is a one-of-a-kind wearable art necklace with enough texture, color, and attitude to hold its own from across the room.
The pendant is an unapologetic 6" x 4.5" assemblage of jasper slabs, an agate cabochon, an oval opal cabochon, a druzy stalactite slice, a mosaic brown gemstone cabochon, and citrine aurora borealis rhinestone trim. Nothing about it is timid. It is architectural, earthy, glittering, and just a little feral.
The necklace is equally unruly: batik star-patterned zebu bone beads, imperfect Ethiopian copper beads, etched resin beads with a bird motif, assorted dzi-style tribal beads, gold-tone metal balls, dark brown wood rondelles, and copper glitter-brown lampwork beads.
Despite all that visual drama, the piece is surprisingly lightweight and comfortable to wear.
