This substantial and heavy antique necklace is better suited for men given the weight, but if you know your tolerance, go for it! It has a comfortable wrapped brown twine or fabric cord so the back of your neck should be okay. This handcrafted shell necklace was made in Papua New Guinea by indigenous natives still referred to as "the last of the Stone Age people." They have managed to preserve their cultural heritage and make a living doing so. This necklace is made from sliced brown puka shells, cut conus shell and some sort of animal vertebrae. When not being worn for ceremonial purposes it can be displayed as room decor. Shells such as these are found on the beaches of Indonesia and historically, they were used as money and medals. This has a large opening so it should fit all. Proudly brought to you from the Atelier of Kat Kouture. Given the weight and oversized design of this piece, I will need to charge shipping.
